Missed Lessons and Discontinuing Lessons

Missed Lessons

I do not offer makeups or refunds for missed lessons. Because your tuition reserves a specific time slot in my schedule, if you are unable to attend, you will simply miss the lesson. I will use that time or other times to plan the student’s curriculum, locate materials, research repertoire, etc. Please be assured that your tuition pays for far more than just the time I spend with your child. There are no refunds, discounts, or makeups given unless I am unavailable to teach the promised number of lessons at our originally scheduled time. Please see information here regarding online lessons and Covid-19 protocol.

Trading Lessons

You may trade lessons with another student if you are on the trade list (this may apply to team students, but only if the trade works for all families involved). Please do not send a sick/contagious student to a lesson. If the student is well enough to sit at their own piano, we can do a FaceTime or Skype lesson during their lesson time. If not, I am confident the musical growth your student will experience while studying with me will not be unreasonably impeded by an occasional missed lesson (obviously in the case of prolonged illness or family emergency, I will work with you).

Summer Lessons

I teach year-round (with short scheduled breaks) and expect my students to stay enrolled during the summer. I am usually able to be a little more flexible in facilitating lesson trades during the summer to accommodate for vacations and camps.

Discontinuing Lessons

If you decide not to continue lessons at any point, your spot will be given to a student on my waiting list. If you want to return at a later date, you may be placed on my waiting list. Priority for scheduling will be given to students who have been with me the longest without taking time off.
