Student and Parent Expectations

Studio Rules and Procedures

Please follow these procedures for your lesson:

• Do a symptom check each week before coming to your lesson. Contact me if you need to move your lesson online.
• Make sure to bring all your materials and books to your lesson each week.
• Walk in the front door without knocking, and wait on the bench in the studio until your lesson begins.
• Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after each lesson.
• No food or candy in the studio.
• Please trim fingernails at home before each lesson.

Required Materials

Private Students

• ideally, an acoustic piano for daily practice, which is in good repair and tuned regularly (annually)
• metronome (there are many free smart-phone apps that work just fine)
• music bag to keep all materials, books, flashcards, etc.
• books (typically I will purchase the books and have you reimburse me)
• recordings of current repertoire being studied (usually available on iTunes, Spotify, or YouTube)
• a 3-ring binder and assignment book will be provided at your first lesson

Group Students

• acoustic piano in good repair and tuned regularly (annually) OR electronic keyboard with full-size weighted keys
• metronome
• books and materials will be provided at your first lesson
